STANDARD LIMITED WARRANTY

BAY AREA COATINGS REFINISHING warrants its materials and craftsmanship for five (5) years on bathtubs, wall tile, countertops, and Fiberglas® fixtures from job completion against peeling or other adhesion failure.

However, as with any brand new or porcelain surface, a refinished surface can be chipped or scratched if abused.

We will repair, free of charge, any defects in materials & craftsmanship assuming proper customer care & maintenance; however, just like a brand new surface, a refinished surface can be chipped or scratched if abused.

We are not responsible for damage to refinished surfaces resulting from incorrect usage such as: mats with suctions cups, abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, pet scratch marks, or impact by sharp or heavy objects, etc., which may mark or chip the surface.

**Sinks and soap dispensers are not a warranted item**

Rust: Corrosion on any surfaces which have rust developing at the overflow drain hole(s), and which has stained or lifted the porcelain at or around the hole(s) can be repaired and refinished, but Bay Area Coatings does not offer any warranty, express or implied, on such a refinish. Every effort is made to remove all rust and apply the finish in a manner which will give long service, but under such circumstances, the rust may return. Bay Area Coatings is not responsible for repairing the neither finish nor further removal of any rust.

PLUMBING: Our technicians are not plumbers. They are not trained, equipped, licensed, or authorized to perform plumbing. If they should remove or replace any pipes or fixtures at the customer’s request, such is done solely as a courtesy and the responsibility for any resulting potential damage lies with the customer. Our technicians may, under certain circumstances, find it necessary to remove or loosen handles, spouts, or overflow covers. In those cases, we will be responsible for those items unless the age or general decay of pipes or fixtures makes this impossible. Please inform our technicians or the estimator if your plumbing is old or in questionable condition in order that we may take special precautions or leave the plumbing completely undisturbed.

Care and Maintenance

  • Avoid allowing wet items such as bath mats, wash cloths, and towels to remain continuously on a refinished surface without drying out between uses. Mats with suction cups should Not be used. (These mats will damage the coating).

  • Clean the finish regularly with a liquid soap; Green Works, Simple Green, Fantastic, Arm & Hammer Shower Clean, Soft Scrub, Scrubbing Bubbles and many others.

  • DO NOT lay soap, metal bottles on the finished surface.

  • Be sure that your faucet taps are dry and not dripping after using the fixture. Leaky faucets will erode the new finish causing it to crack and wear out prematurely, and voiding the guarantee.

  • Waiting period: The new finish needs at least 24-72 HOURS (depending on type of coating) to cure thoroughly. For the first 7 days cleaning solutions or cleaning products should NOT be used on the coated surfaces.

  • Our surface can be regularly cleaned and sanitized with a good liquid cleaner of your choice. Do not use cleaners that contain abrasives, harsh acids, or bleach. Most worn tubs, sinks and tile become worn and dull due to abrasive cleansers and not age or usage.

  • Please note: all newly refinished surfaces will have some surface dust which will have settled into the new surface. Do not be alarmed; the surface is still within its long term of cure period; normal use and regular cleaning will remove all minor surface dust.

  • Standing water: if the refinished surface of the shower pan/bathtub/sink is slanted or dished and causes water to pool away from the drain area, it is important to remove that water, (e.g., with a squeegee) and assure the surface dries after every use to prevent deterioration of the finish and eventual peeling.

HOW TO CARE FOR ALL YOUR COATED SURFACES
